The first year of the Kapex Foundation was a massive success. Here is the timeline for the
Foundation’s achievements during the last year
BETA CHI 75TH CHAPTER ANNIVERSARY

The Kapex Foundation was the driving force for the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Beta Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Foundation members led the planning of the weekend which was executed perfectly. Celebration of Brother Joe Debose a 1949 initiate of the chapter who at 93 years old came to the celebration and was the guest of honor. Brother Debose felt the love and he and his
daughter were infusive in praise of his treatment. Brother Debose received a lifetime
achievement award from the chapter.
BACKPACK GIVEAWAY AT HAMPTON BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
The Foundation facilitated 50 boys and girls from the club receiving backpacks filled with school supplies to enhance their scholastic endeavors.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS RAISED
The foundation raised $238,000 from the brothers in attendance to support the Beta Chi undergrad chapter as well initiatives and scholarships for Hampton Students.

HAMPTON VS. HOWARD GAME
The Foundation paid for a tent for the undergraduates during their tailgating activities.

HAMPTON HOMECOMING
The Foundation donated ten tickets to the Hampton University Homecoming Game to the Hampton Boys and Girls Club.
Kapex also donated twenty-five thousand dollars to the Hampton University Financial Literacy Program. The program is a nine-hour course on investing, credit, finance, and banking taught by financial professionals and will be given free to all incoming freshmen in the 2023-24 school year. Freshmen receive $25 in an investment account that will hopefully grow during their time at Hampton University and beyond.

FUNDING GLOBAL EDUCATION
Kapex donated two thousand dollars to help Chapter Polemarch (President) Trey Baker
participate in the International Urban Studies Travel Abroad Program. Trey, an architecture major, studied architecture in Accra, Ghana during the program.


HAMPTON UNIVERSITY PANEL DISCUSSION ON DEI

The event was a chance for Hampton Alumni who work in the DEI space to return to
campus and talk with students about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and professional opportunities in the space. The panel featured the head DEI officers for IKEA, Pepsi, Google, and the Biden administration and others.
The event was created by Kapex member Marc Alexander and Kapex donated five Apple iPads and fifteen hundred dollars toward the at-use scholarship for students.
KAPEX $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS
Kapex awarded five, $5,000 scholarships to worthy students for their academic achievement and service to Hampton University and the broader society. Congratulations to the 2022-23 scholarship recipients:
